The Guangzhou Railway Group on Monday announced the suspension of 62 regular-speed trains on the Beijing-Guangzhou railway from April 29 to May 1 due to potential heavy rain in China's Hunan and Guangdong provinces.
Delays of varying degrees are expected for some trains on the Beijing-Guangzhou and Beijing-Kowloon railways, as well as the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway.
Railway authorities may consider implementing additional precautionary measures, such as suspending or diverting trains on the Beijing-Kowloon railway and the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway, depending on the severity of the rainfall.
Heavy rain is expected in most parts of Hunan and central and northern parts of Guangdong in the coming days, according to meteorological authorities.
